Humdrum is a simple concept. It
is a collection of places that are pretty "humdrum" in nature, but
that does not mean that they should be ignored. These places
won't show up on a tourist map, or won't be talked about in
endless duplicate blogs all over the internet. You won't
make a day out of visiting any of these places, but maybe in your
free time on your travels, you can stop by, rate the location, and
go on your merry way. It can be something as simple as road
sign that points you in three different directions, or a ghost
town. You don't need to sign up to browse all of the humdrum
places (called drums). You only need to sign up to create
drums, or leave a review. So, go off, and march to the beat of
your own (hum)drum.
To prevent someone from flooding the service with tons of drums, you cannot add a drum within 500 meters of an existing one. Abuse will not be tolerated. Drums can be marked as inappropriate, and will be reviewed. If a user abuses the system they will be banned.
